Nasra College of Arts and science has a fullfledged library with 6405 books and 15 journals. The library was established in 2012 in the ground floor of the main block.The internet connectivity of high speed with a bandwidth of 50Mbps and Wifi connectivity in the library give facility for the access in to  e-journals and e-books.The library has subscribed to Information and Library Network(INFLIBNET) for providing access to Nlist login.The barcode enabled entry and exit system,e-library, OPAC,Web-OPAC,Dspace etc. are updated facilities of the library along with Koha remote access facility. The librarian gives orientation classes to the new members each year shedding light on the facilities available and on ways to use the library effectively.The Library Advisory Committee gives necessary directions and suggestions for the upgradation and smooth functioning of the library. There are separate sections in the library for circulation , reference, general reading, digital library and book bank.

Rules And Regulations General rules

College identity card is compulsory for all users. This card is strictly non-transferable.

All the personal belongings should be kept at the property counter Keep complete silence in the library

Reference books will not be issued to any users

All the students and staffs scan their id cards to the digital gate register before entering library

Use of Mobile phones is strictly prohibited inside the library.

Documents taken out of the shelves must leave on the table. Replacing the documents on shelves by users is not encouraged as the documents may get misplaced.

 

 

 

 

Circulation rules

Members of the teaching staff can borrow 5 books, UG students 2 books ,PG students& non teaching staff 3 books at a time.

UG & PG students can usually keep books for 14 days and teaching staff for 30 days.

If the book borrowed from the library is not return or before the due date, a fine Rs-2/-(Rs two only) per day will be levied for each book.

The loan period is normally 14 days . They can be renewed for a period of another 14 days more; if no one has reserved for the same . But the librarian reserves the right to recall any book at any time from any borrower, even when the period of loan is not over.

Absence from the college will not be admitted as an excuse to delay in returned the books.

Marking, underlining, wrting, tampering and tearing away the pages of the books are punishable with fine or replacement of the book, or both.

The borrowers will be held responsible for any defect detected when the books is returned and he/she will be liable to replace the defective book with new one or pay such compensations as maybe fixed by the government or university

Members shall replace books lost or pay 3 times of the price, of the lost book.

All new arrivals of books will be displayed in separate rack at the entrance for one month; users may reserve such books and will not be issued during that period.

Annual Stock Verification- All the books borrowed from the Central Library by students and members of teaching and non-teaching staff must be returned by the first of March every year for the annual physical stock verification of the Library.

The college library has a book bank , which stocks essential textbooks in all subjects . These books are issued to students under the teachers recommendation

, who cannot afford them and the book bank facility helps students to prepare for university examination.

 

 

Digital library rules

Upon entry into the Digital Library section users must sign in the register. Library computers are strictly for academics ONLY.

Online chatting, browsing of social networking sites, playing games and other non- academic activities are STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED. Any person found guilty of such will be ordered to leave or else face disciplinary actions.

Users should not use USB devices/Pen drives for data transfer to avoid virus. Such file / data transfer can be done as e-mail attachments.

The college appoints a library advisory committee who provides guidance and recommendations to the library administration on matters related to the library and its services.The aim of the library advisory committee is to support and improve the library services and resources available to the college academic community.
